Project X-51 Background Research
After building the first two rockets I learned That you should always make it bigger and longer so its not to small to launch. I learned how to make a nose come and that the rocket will fly better with wings. My partner and I experienced failure both times we launched our rockets it helps me understand the correct size that the rocket should be and that the bottle rockets can have any holes. We were able to use the nose cone idea that we got the first time and the same wing design. We got information for the handout “Achieving Maximum Altitude.” And from the packet called “Making A Basic High-Power Air Rocket.” Any other features we might want to add are more wings like one more and a better nose cone. Also keeping the egg from crashing with tape instead of the bottom half of the bottle. The research tells us we should use about half the bottle with water. I think we should make the fins about half the size of the bottle and the nose cone longer and not as wide. I feel the rocket will launch better if the fins should be like triangle shaped and the nose cone should be half a circle and we can fold it to make it into a cone shape.

The final time we launched our rockets our rocket went 60 ft in the air and landed 53 ft away. But the egg exploded. It was hard for most people to keep the egg from cracking so we figured it would crack
